1. About This Site

Airsoft Hub is a community platform for New Zealand airsoft players to buy and sell gear, discuss the hobby in the forums, keep track of upcoming events, and find clubs, vendors and technicians. By creating an account or using this site, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Airsoft Hub is not a party to any sale — all arrangements, payments, and shipping are made directly between buyer and seller, at their own risk.

Just as important: Airsoft Hub is, and is intended to remain, completely free — for players and for clubs. There's no monetisation plan, no premium tier, no catch. It exists because the NZ airsoft community deserves a proper platform of its own.

2. Account Verification

Anyone can browse Airsoft Hub without an account. To list gear, message sellers, or post in the forums, you must register and be verified. The verification process works as follows:

• You sign up with a username (the only thing ever shown publicly), a password, an email address, your real first name, last name, and region, and a photo of your membership card or ID for verification purposes.
• Your account is placed in a pending state. Your full name, region, email, and verification photo are used only to confirm you are a genuine, real player — they are never displayed publicly.
• Your verification photo is stored in a private, access-restricted location that ordinary members — including other staff outside the review process — cannot browse or query. It is never made public, never shared with other members, and never used for anything beyond confirming your application.
• Only staff reviewing your application can view it, and only through a temporary access link that expires after a couple of minutes each time it's requested — it is not permanently viewable, downloadable, or cached anywhere.
• The photo is permanently deleted the moment a decision is made on your application — approved or declined — and is never retained afterward.
• An admin, moderator, or (for applicants who selected a club at sign-up) that club's Co-Ordinator reviews your application and either approves or declines it. You'll receive an email the moment a decision is made.
• Once approved, your account is marked Verified and you gain full access to list gear, message other members, and post in the forums.
• Verification may later be revoked by staff if an account is found to be fraudulent, misused, or in breach of these terms.

3. Prohibited Listings & Conduct

Airsoft Hub exists solely for airsoft-related gear and activity. The following is strictly prohibited, with no exceptions:

• Listing, advertising, or offering to sell anything outside the context of airsoft, including but not limited to real firearms, live ammunition, explosives, weapons of any kind not classified as airsoft replicas, or any item restricted or illegal under New Zealand law.
• Listing airsoft replicas in a manner that misrepresents them as real firearms, or altering them to appear more realistic than permitted under NZ law (e.g. removing or obscuring an orange tip where required).
• Listing stolen goods, counterfeit items, or gear you do not have the right to sell.
• Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or abusive behaviour toward any member, in listings, forums, or private messages.
• Attempting to circumvent verification, impersonate another person or organisation, or create multiple accounts to evade a ban.

Sellers are solely responsible for ensuring their listings comply with the Arms Act 1983, its regulations covering airsoft/replica devices, and all other applicable New Zealand law. Airsoft Hub takes no responsibility for the legality of any individual listing and will remove any listing suspected of breaching this section without notice.

4. Moderation & Enforcement

Airsoft Hub is overseen by a staff and moderation team. At their sole discretion, staff may take whatever action is necessary to maintain a safe and functional community, including suspending or permanently banning any member's account for misconduct or breach of these terms.

Decisions made by the staff and moderation team are final and are not subject to appeal or review. We reserve the right to take this action without prior warning where necessary to protect the safety or integrity of the community.

5. Privacy & Your Information

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information you provide, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Your full name, email address, and verification photo are kept private and used only for verification and account-related communication; your username and region are the only details shown publicly on your profile and listings. See Section 2 above for exactly how your verification photo is stored, who can access it, and when it's deleted.

However, no online platform can guarantee absolute security. Outside of the dedicated verification photo upload at sign-up, please do not upload, attach, or send any other legal documents, government ID, proof-of-age documents, or other sensitive personal records anywhere on this site — including in listings, messages, or forum posts. You should never be asked to provide identifying documents anywhere other than that one sign-up step, and any such request should be reported to staff immediately.

6. Disclaimer & Liability

Airsoft Hub is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing, the conduct of any member, or the outcome of any transaction. To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Airsoft Hub and its operators are not liable for any loss, damage, or dispute arising from your use of the site or your dealings with other members.

Airsoft Hub is a listing and communication platform only. We are not a dealer, retailer, reseller, broker, or party to any sale, and we do not handle, process, or have any involvement in payments, transactions, shipping, or the physical exchange of goods between members — our role begins and ends at connecting a buyer and a seller. Every transaction is a private arrangement made directly and solely between the members involved, entirely at their own risk.

Airsoft Hub is not a firearms or arms dealer of any kind, holds no dealer or broker licence, and does not buy, sell, own, store, or take possession of any item listed on the site. Sellers are solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to sell any item they list, and that both listing and selling the item complies with all applicable New Zealand law, including but not limited to the Arms Act 1983 and any regulations concerning restricted or regulated airsoft replica items. Buyers are solely responsible for satisfying themselves that any item they purchase, and their own possession of it, is lawful. Airsoft Hub takes no responsibility for verifying the legality of any individual listing or sale, and reserves the right to remove any listing or account at our discretion.

We do our best to ensure members are verified before they can list gear, message other members, or use the forums — but verification confirms someone is a real person, not that any individual sale, trade, or interaction is safe, legal, or legitimate. Airsoft Hub is not liable if you are scammed, defrauded, or otherwise harmed by another member's conduct. Buyer beware: use common sense, meet in safe public locations, inspect gear before paying, and be cautious of deals or requests that feel off.

7. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the site, the law, or our moderation practices. Continued use of Airsoft Hub after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes arising from your use of this site are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
